Snow Day!

Just thought I’d post some photos and videos of our first big snow storm since moving to the new house! Saturday night I was pretty convinced that we wouldn’t get much as it wasn’t more than a dusting. I was a little surprised to see at least 4 inches Sunday morning and it was a good thick, wet 4 inches of snow.

You could just stick your hand in the snow and close it and you would have a good snow ball to throw! Most of the snow I’ve experienced in Texas in the past usually required packing a few handfuls before you had enough to make a decent snowball.

I think the pictures speak for themselves, but it’s nice to be here in Connecticut. The trees surrounding us are so beautiful in the snow! I didn’t get a picture, but we even had a couple of deer visit during the day. I can’t believe we got so lucky with getting this property!

View of the back yard from where I currently have my office set up
I did a little hiking up the hill back behind our property in hopes of getting a good view of the valley – the snow was heavy enough to block it looking more like a dense fog. I did manage to capture this great rock formation at the top of the hill though!
Another back yard shot looking directly out of one of the back windows.
Even did some plowing for the first time in my life – went well until the winch cable holding up the plow snapped later in the day when doing round two.
And one final picture from this morning with the sun out!
